What Needs to Happen to Really Make America Great Again

Donald Trump must win in November. Make no mistake about it. When you think about the disaster that the Biden-Harris administration has been, a Harris-Walz administration would be so much worse. Donald Trump has some big plans for this country, but, to make America great again, electing Donald Trump won’t be enough.

To truly set the nation on a path toward meaningful reform, we must do more than just win the White House. While presidential elections understandably draw the most attention and highest turnout, it's crucial to channel the enthusiasm for Trump into a broader push for a sweeping Republican majority. The energy we bring to the presidential race must extend down the ballot, ensuring we secure the strongest possible Republican presence in Congress to bring about lasting change.

Trump’s key announcement Thursday—eliminating taxes on overtime pay—highlights the need for a sweeping GOP victory.

"Today, I'm also announcing that as part of our additional tax cuts, we will end all taxes on overtime," Trump said at a campaign rally in Tuscon, Arizona. "The people who work overtime are among the hardest working citizens in our country. And for too long, no one in Washington has been looking out for them. They are police officers, nurses, factory workers, construction workers, truck drivers and machine operators."

It's a fantastic idea—these workers deserve to keep more of their hard-earned money rather than handing it over to Washington, D.C. But make no mistake, if Democrats control even one chamber of Congress, these proposals will go nowhere. They will block any chance of Trump securing legislative victories. That's why I'm telling you that without Republican control of both the House and Senate, Trump’s win will lead to a lot of promises that simply can’t be fulfilled.

The good news is that prospects for winning control of the U.S. Senate are looking strong. In Montana, it appears Democrat Senator John Tester is finally on his way out. West Virginia is shaping up to be a crucial pick-up, and Ohio is showing promising signs as well. Unfortunately, Arizona and Nevada aren't looking as favorable at the moment, but that could change. The larger the majority we secure, the better. What’s especially encouraging about our Senate outlook is that it sets us up to confirm conservative judges. With potential vacancies on the Supreme Court looming, this would allow us to maintain—and possibly expand—the conservative majority.

The House of Representatives is harder to predict, but many believe that it will be a decent year for the Democrats, and they have a modest lead in the RealClearPolitics average for the generic congressional vote. It's also inevitable that if Democrats win the House, they'll impeach Trump again for some made-up crime.

I know it sounds cliché, but the stakes in 2024 couldn’t be higher. A Trump presidency without a Republican-controlled Congress risks gridlock, where ambitious plans stall and the threat of another unjust impeachment looms. To restore America’s greatness, we need the White House, Senate, and House all under Republican control this November. The critical question is: How will you contribute to this effort? Will you support Trump and then stop, or will you vote Republican down the entire ballot? Will you let a Democrat win just because you don't want to vote for a "RINO"? Doing so will hamper Trump’s ability to govern effectively, risking more impeachments and hindering the confirmation of conservative judges. Your vote is crucial. Choose wisely to ensure a unified Republican government and a successful second term for President Trump.
